The Opportunity:
Dre. Bazinet and Dre. Landry, located in Moncton, NB, is seeking a Part-Time Medical Office Assistant to join their team.
This opportunity is meant for an individual who has experience working as an office administrator within a health care setting. Key Responsibilities, as required/applicable:
- Coordinates patient care through the Clinic which includes: checking in patients, escorting to exam rooms, and preparing exam rooms for the next patient.
- Answers enquiries by phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner.
- Operates the fax machine.
- Manages appointment schedule and recalls.
- Maintains electronic medical records, including the patient chart.
- Ensures that exam rooms are stocked appropriately and that they are ready for the next patient.
- Cleans and sterilizes materials and instruments.
- Performs patient preparation procedures and documents findings on patient charts.
- Performs billing procedures for multiple payers, applies and collects non-insured fees where applicable.
- Orders and receives office and medical supplies.
- Performs all other related clinical, administrative, or special tasks as required.
Schedule & Location:
- This is a part-time, on site position located at our clinic: 565 Elmwood Dr, Moncton, NB.
- Weekly hours will range between 20-30 hours, with the schedule varying based on operational requirements.
- Hours of work fall within our regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (no evenings, weekends, or statutory holiday shifts required).
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with a computer (including using the internet, electronic medical record system, and MS Office software).
- Demonstrates excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit compassion and patience.
- Self-motivated individual who has the ability to work independently and as a team.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by fostering a mindset of innovation, problem solving, and excellence.
- Ability to maintain a high regard for confidentiality and advocacy for patients.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English and French is required.
Experience/Education:
- 2+ years of experience as a medical office admin within a family practice is an asset.
- Medical office admin diploma (or equivalent) is an asset.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- General knowledge of the New Brunswick medical system is an asset.
