As part of the The Structural Maintenance team at Belledune Generating Station, the Utility Tradesworker performs general laborer duties and operates equipment related to
the maintenance of structures, buildings, grounds and vehicles. This involves operating plant vehicles, tools and equipment and performing physical tasks such as lifting carrying, bending and climbing.
Key functions include:
• Cleaning, repairing, installing, inspecting and maintaining of all types of tools and equipment and as well as performing preventive maintenance on structures such as doors, siding, locks, lighting, etc.
• Providing support to all departments requiring access to confined space attendance and rescue (training will be provided).
• Lending general labourer support to the four Northern Stations: Belledune, Millbank, Nepisiguit Falls and Eel River.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Carpentry CQ
• The willingness to successfully complete the scissor lift, GLG, and Bobcat course to operate various equipment
• Three years of experience in an industrialized environment, including experience working around moving equipment and operating a forklift
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
