What you will be doing:
The Organizational Change Management Leader, will lead the planning and execution of organizational change management (OCM) initiatives within Tangerine Bank in the context of Clarity Program Execution. This role is critical in ensuring that Program Clarity change initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee engagement, buy-in and activation. Through strong partnerships across businesses and functions, this role helps drive increased employee, client and shareholder value. The Director will work alongside the Clarity Execution Program Leader, focusing on the multiple facets of OCM, including workforce planning, transition, and change management practices as we transition the organization to the new operating model.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Change Management Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies and plans to drive successful organizational change initiatives.
- Proactively identify opportunities where additional OCM tactics may increase value and/or time-to-market.
- Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
- Design and execute change management plans that include communication, training, and support activities.
- Directs and owns the change management efforts to embed transformational changes, processes, procedures, disciplines, and systems in the context of Project Clarity.
- Establishes tracking and monitoring systems to measure progress and effectiveness, ensuring compliance with the operational model. Leverages data to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner closely with Tangerine Leaders, Human Resources and Corporate Communications to ensure change programs effectively empower employees to adopt new ways of working and align with the organization's strategic direction.
- Partner with senior management and business line leaders to ensure the successful delivery of change initiatives across the organization.
- Engage with and manage stakeholders across Tangerine, Scotiabank, and 3rd parties to gather feedback and ensure alignment with change management objectives.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management and boards to articulate change management plans and progress.
- Communication and Training:
- Develop and execute communication plans to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the change process.
- Design and deliver training programs to support the adoption of new processes and systems.
- Create and distribute change management materials, including newsletters, FAQs, and training guides.
- Measurement and Reporting:
- Develop and implement metrics and scorecards to measure the effectiveness of change management initiatives aligned to the strategic outcomes.
- Monitor and report on change management progress, identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct ongoing retrospectives and post-implementation reviews to assess the success of change initiatives and identify lessons learned.
- Risk Management
- Understand how the company's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Ensure the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- 10-15 years of experience in change management, with a focus on transformational execution.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing large change management projects, programs, or project portfolios.
- 3-4 years of strategy and change execution experience.
- Understanding of OCM models, and change practices.
- Strategic and Creative Problem Solver: Innovative, data-driven, and improvement-oriented with a strategic mindset.
- Communication and Facilitation: Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Measurement and Reporting: Proficiency in developing and implementing metrics to measure change management effectiveness.
- Leadership and Collaboration: A demonstrable history of leading difficult conversations to build alignment and a strong collaborator who is receptive to feedback and views team problem-solving as a natural part of the creative process.
- Positive and Resilient Personality: A positive and resilient personality with the ability to embrace feedback and a desire for continuous iteration and improvement.
- Self-Guided and Fast Learner: Comfortable working in a self-guided manner and a fast learner with an appetite to understand both simple and complex financial solutions.
- Experience in the technology and/or other fast-paced industries.
- Change management certification (ProSci, CCMP, CMS, APMG or similar)
