The Team Lead, Community Health & Wellness will be responsible for coordinating the operations and implementation of community engagement programs that have a local, provincial and a national profile. The Team Lead will implement, coordinate, and support to a designated team of staff and volunteers in technical and operational functions to ensure that service coordination is performed in an accurate and efficient manner.

In this role, you will :
Responsibility 1. Program Coordination

  • Assists in monitoring expenditures while meeting requirements that may be defined by funding agency or program sponsor.
  • Supports team-mates through effective problem solving of conflicts/issues with regards to challenging scheduling cases or hard to service areas.
  • Responds to questions and concerns regarding scheduling policies and practices.
  • Provides training, technical support and guidance to team-mates with respect to the use and understanding of scheduling systems i.e., CIMS, BAM, IAR
  • Assists Senior Manager with recruitment and selection of staff as well as orientation and ongoing learning and development to a specific team area
  • Assists coordinator(s) with recruitment and selection of volunteers as well as orientation and ongoing learning and development to a specific team area
  • Ensures that all team members maintain and update their client information and associated documentation
  • Collaborates with team members by being active in planning for program success

Responsibility 2. Support for Community Health & Wellness

  • Represents the program in a variety of contexts with a diverse range of internal/external audiences with a goal of advancing the Canadian Red Cross Community Health and Wellness vision.
  • Integrates volunteer resources within the scope of responsibilities, as required.
  • Collaborates with Senior Manager and/or other members of the Community Health & Wellness team on project work outside of the local/regional project through participation in working groups upon request.

Responsibility 3. Leadership

  • Participates in implementing relevant health programs which includes the development of pilots.
  • Leads all operations including marketing, research, training, and evaluation components of the program.
  • Leads training workshops that target participants both internal and external to CRC.
  • Engages with external community partners involved in project planning and implementation.
  • Provides detailed reports regularly and communicates regularly with various stakeholders as identified by Senior Management.
  • Ensures ethical conduct of program activities and the confidentiality of program participants.
  • Leads staff and volunteer force supporting the program.
  • Leads and coordinates the program to achieve required deliverables on time and on budget.
  • In collaboration with Senior Manager, resolves clients' incidents, completes/files occurrences report in a timely manner, employee related problems and issues by providing necessary information and supportive documentation
  • Maintains a collaborative team relationship with clients, providers, and internal personnel
  • Represents the program in a variety of contexts with a diverse range of audiences.
  • Ensures team is bringing forward issues or concerns with the day-to-day business and deadlines
  • Ensures that program stats are accurate and submitted on time
  • Ensures month end is completed in a timely manner
  • Ensures Senior Manager is aware of any issues, concerns, or policies not being followed in a timely manner
  • Acts as designate for senior manager when required
  • Participates and supports in disaster planning, preparation, and response, as required

What we are looking for :

  • College diploma in a relevant business or related discipline, or a combination of education and team lead experience that would be considered equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years' experience within a non-profit program/department or related sector, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Experience leading teams and demonstrated success in achieving change
  • Experience with a service-based, non-profit organization is an asset
  • Knowledge of volunteer, community, and healthcare sectors across Ontario
  • Knowledge of current local trends in community health
  • Working knowledge of the community health care sector
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to quality, combined with the ability to manage multiple high priority tasks with a demanding environment is required
  • Thorough knowledge of funder obligations and case management is required
  • Ability to solve complex problems with strategic and innovative thinking
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and influence others with strong personal accountability
  • Professionalism, credibility, and exceptional people skills to work collaboratively within a team and establish and manage productive internal and external relationships
  • Ability to function effectively in a matrix environment balancing the expectations and needs of both the functional and professional teams
  • Strong customer service orientation and planning
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Computer and numerical literacy, comfort working with databases and metrics
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.

Working Conditions :

  • The work is performed in an office environment
  • This position requires a valid provincial driver's license as well as access to a reliable vehicle, and First Aid certification (training provided).
