Essential Qualifications:
Certification
Certified GIS Professional is considered an asset.
Those applicants with excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French will be given preference.
Class 5 Driver's License
Education
Undergraduate degree in GIS or equivalent (minimum 4 years post-secondary education)
Experience
Minimum 3 years GIS experience (municipal experience preferred)
Technical Skills
•In-depth knowledge of Enterprise GIS and relational database management systems;
•Experience building mapping applications;
•Good understanding of and ability to perform geospatial and statistical analysis;
•Demonstrated knowledge of cartographic principles;
•Excellent attention to detail;
•Good understanding of coordinate systems, projections and scale;
•General knowledge of remote sensing and global positioning systems;
•Ability to quickly learn to use new software;
•Advanced knowledge of ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro Software;
•Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS Online;
•General understanding of user experience/user interface (UX/UI) design;
•General knowledge of CAD Software;
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office;
•Working knowledge of audio/visual equipment, plotter, scanner and general office equipment;
•General knowledge of graphic design software; and
•Programming skills would be considered an asset.
