What you will do:
Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, the Food Services Supervisor is responsible is responsible for overseeing staff and operations at our Axe and Plough Café and King's Head Inn. This role oversees the preparation and cooking of all meals and food for both day-to-day operations and special events.
Some Duties/Responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the hiring, training, supervising and coaching of a team of 25 or more people
- Promoting and enforcing all applicable health and safety policies and regulations
- Assigning and scheduling work
- Providing orientation to new staff
- Greeting public/responding to inquiries
- Assisting workers in kitchen and dining room
- Clearing tables
- Serving food & beverages
- Handling cash and verifying deposits
- Seating customers
- Assisting with the setup for special events
- Storing and stocking supplies
- Completing inventory counts of supplies and equipment
- Assisting in preparing food orders
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Who you are:
You are a dynamic and experienced professional with a passion for the hospitality industry. You possess excellent leadership skills, allowing you to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team. Strong organizational abilities are essential, as you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of service, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests. You also have a keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle stressful situations with grace.
Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:
Required Competencies:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 4 years of related work experience, including two years of supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.
Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.
Nice to have:
- Food Safe Certification
- Responsible Beverage Certification

Wage:
$27.69 per hour
Work environment:
- Location: Kings Landing, Prince William, NB
- Standard hours of work: Shift work with variable hours, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Kitchen environment, occasional mild exposure to heat, cold and water; long periods standing
