On behalf of the Mariners Centre Board of Directors, we are seeking a skilled and collaborative leader to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic organization during a period of significant growth and transformation, ensuring the Centre continues to meet the evolving needs of the community.
The Opportunity
As CEO, you are responsible for implementing plans and programs in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the Board under its mandate and the Intermunicipal Agreement. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will be accountable for providing strategic leadership in managing operations, directing the organization's management team, and delivering on key strategic, operational, and fiduciary objectives.
In this role, you will support the Board in its relationships with government officials, community leaders, philanthropic activities, and public/private institutions to champion the Mariners Centre profile.
What You Bring to the Role
As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated experience in financial management, Board governance support, and strategic development, preferably within a recreational facility or community organization. However, the Board is open to considering candidates with relevant leadership experience in other sectors.
You have post-secondary education in Business, Operations, Sport & Recreation, Project Management, or a related field, and can build consensus among various stakeholders including Board members, staff, government officials, and community members. In addition, you have proven change management experience and the ability to lead organizations through transition periods.
You bring a strong track record in community-oriented program delivery, membership operations, and event marketing and management. Your interpersonal skills enable you to establish rapport, display sensitivity, and navigate challenging situations with composure and good judgment.
