Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of independently assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders in an acute care setting. Interdisciplinary team work is required.
This position reports to the Neurology-Endocrinology Division Manager, Medicine Program - Health Sciences Centre and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Speech-Language Pathology for integrity and professional practice issues.

Occasionally, there is lifting or physical strength required (i.e. lifting up to 25 lbs. while carrying boxes of resources/materials, flip charts and audio-visual equipment for group work activities.
Constantly sits to consult with clients, conduct therapeutic sessions, work on the computer or drive to meetings/home visits and occasionally works in awkward or cramped body positions (i.e. working with small children).
Travel may be required throughout the region.
Job Qualifications
Graduation with a Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an approved/recognized program.
Current registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.
Dysphagia experience and education within the past 5 years is considered an asset.
A satisfactory record of work performance is required.
