BF&M is comprised of several companies selling health, life, pension, property and casualty insurance products.?We are excited to partner with them looking to bring a Senior Finance Administrator to their team in Dartmouth.
The Senior Finance Administrator will provide critical support to the Finance Manager across all aspects of finance operations, ensuring day-to-day financial activities, reporting, and compliance processes are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. This role plays a key part in maintaining the integrity of financial systems, delivering accurate reporting, and contributing to operational excellence.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support the Finance Manager with day-to-day financial operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
- Review and release daily payment batches to ensure timely disbursements.
- Act as the key point of contact for finance operational matters related to BF&M General Insurance Company.
- Perform weekly three-way (FAC) reconciliations, dealing with queries.
- Review weekly intercompany rebalances and support treasury function.
- Complete monthly accounts receivable (AR) reconciliation and support financial reporting.
- Perform and review monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform and review monthly suspense account reconciliations.
- Process quarterly dividend distributions and perform associated reconciliations.
- Generate monthly rental invoices for the property company, prepare annual property maintenance account statements and analysis.
- Act as the main contact for audit queries and business communications regarding BF&M General Insurance Company and property maintenance account, prepare required audit schedules and documentation.
- Other tasks Assist the Finance Manager with special projects, including finance integration initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation or working towards it.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, business, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or financial services environment.
- Hands-on experience with finance operational activities.
- Strong understanding of accounting reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, hands-on experience with spreadsheets and working with Excel formulas.
- Knowledge of Dynamics GP.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong team player with a proactive and energetic approach to work and enjoy problem solving.
