What you will do:
We are seeking two dynamic and passionate School Food Program Leads to oversee and lead our school food programs, with a focus on building relationships with schools and districts, ensuring the effective delivery of nutritious lunches to students, and supporting the overall success of the New Brunswick school food program.

The key responsibilities of the positions are:

  • Collaborate with district and school administrators, nutritionists, local food suppliers, and other stakeholders to assess the needs and requirements for the lunch program in each school.
  • Develop a detailed plan for the school food program, incorporating healthy, balanced, and sustainable meal options.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with community partners, local government agencies, non-profits, and other organizations to ensure the program aligns with community health initiatives and sustainability goals.
  • Oversee the roll-out of the school food program, ensuring smooth and timely implementation across multiple schools or districts.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the success of the food program.
  • Work with the school administration to develop and manage the budget for the food program.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in community engagement, education, business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of proven experience in program management, community relations, or food systems development.
  • Experience with leading projects and successful implementation of programs.
  • Experience in relationship building with vendors, community organizations, and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of or experience with catering healthy meals to multiple establishments.

Wage:
Pay Band 7 - $91,832 to $111,124 annually.

Work environment:

  • Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton, N.B.
  • Possibility of remote work within New Brunswick.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
