Reporting to the Director, Group Liquidity and Global Cash Management, the Associate Director, Intraday Liquidity Management (AD) oversees various aspects of intraday liquidity management including cash position forecasting and the USD End-of-Day Settlement Balance Management.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to the Bank's overall intraday liquidity strategies, cash management direction and provide recommendations to senior management for policies and related procedures.
  • Lead the USD team on new projects and change management across Canada/US through effective interaction with all stakeholders.
  • Interpret new and existing local liquidity regulatory reporting requirements related to intraday liquidity and intraday liquidity stress testing.
  • Design and oversee processes, automation, reports and dashboards to ensure compliance and additional management analytics.
  • Oversee daily forecast, and intraday liquidity for assigned businesses, including variance analysis between forecast and actual.
  • Make judgement decisions to allocate funds between rails/ accounts based on costs, liquidity ratios, and intraday liquidity strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with FIs and central banks to advocate for BNS.
  • Review best practices and latest industry developments.
  • Ensure end of day trade tickets between central bank and our records are booked correctly.
  • Provide input to setting internal credit limits.
  • Work with stakeholders across business lines in scope to address issues or changes to cash and intraday liquidity management.
  • Review and set intraday liquidity stress testing framework with Liquidity Stress Testing Team and manage the production of the data and analysis into intraday liquidity stress tests.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Engineering.
  • MBA/CFA/FRM or accounting designation are considered assets but not required.
  • 5+ years experience in Banking
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt enthusiastically to change.
