Position Overview:

To co-ordinate and drive the development and communication of fixtures, standards and maintenance. Along with the Fixture Design Manager, partners with departmental Visual Merchandisers', Merchants and Vendors to develop concepts, designs and communication vehicles that drive increased sales to that initiative and enhances the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partners with Visual Merchandisers, Implementation Planning Managers, Assortment Planning, Procurement, Third Party Design firms and Vendors driving the overall fixture design in regards to development, assembly and shop-ability across all store type
  • Manages assigned CR and MET projects per the PLR Calendar, making recommendations on effective fixturing solutions that support the overall merchandising strategy
  • Project manage budget for assigned projects to ensure all milestones fall within or under expectations.
  • Provides design direction, managing relationships with vendors and third party agencies from project kick-off to completion; through concept development, value-engineering, to finalizing costing, production and rollout
  • Assists Fixture Manager as needed with larger CI/Capital and Special projects
  • Ensure fixture protocol is followed regarding all vendor submissions
  • Assist during the engineering phase with: document creation, and reverse engineering
  • Further define and co-ordinate fixture parameters (fixture specifications by department, standards and guidelines)
  • Co-ordinate and schedule the fixture approval process through monthly or bi-weekly meetings
  • Attend the fixture review and communicate approvals or revisions to all parties
  • Update and maintain fixture data base and review all existing fixture drawings with cross functional partners to ensure they meet Home Depot standards. Ensure all current details are posted and maintained on Expesite
  • Develop and/ or co-ordinate any installation instructions required
  • Attend Pilot store installations and resolve any issues or deficiencies quickly and efficiently
  • Work cross-departmentally by collaborating where needed for best overall Store Environment - Assist Store Planning with the development of lay-outs and store specific projects and Visual Merchandising when required
  • Partners with Sourcing on the competitive bidding process/RFP/RFQ, reviewing all engineering dwgs, prototypes and first production samples for accuracy and quality assurance

Hybrid Work:

  • Location Flex – Monday to Thursday at the SSC. Alternative locations including the Innovation Centre, or in-store as needed.

Working Conditions:

  • Working in an office setting: computer work, camera on virtual meetings, taking support calls.
  • Working in a store /warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree/college diploma program or equivalent program in a field of study related to the job

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years' experience with multi-unit retailer or strong Third Party supporting multi-unit retailer as a coordinator with emphasis in fixture design and documentation

  • Proficient use of AutoCAD, 3-D studio, Photoshop, or other design programs
