What you will do

As a member of the Traffic Engineering unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Traffic Safety section.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • supervising employees;
  • providing technical expertise related to traffic engineering;
  • analyzing and responding to highway safety requests;
  • conducting various types of traffic studies;
  • preparing and monitoring specific projects under the departmental Safety Improvement Program.

Essential Qualifications:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of related experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of New Brunswick or be eligible for membership.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Class 5 driverâ??s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

  • experience in traffic engineering;
  • experience in traffic safety.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Engineer 3: $2,840.95 to $3,888.52 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
