We are seeking a Financial Analyst for a 12-month term position within the Finance team at our Moncton location. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for keying accounting entries, performing financial analysis of various accounts, and assisting the team with ad-hoc activities related to time-sensitive periodic reports to management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Financial Reporting Team in preparing consolidated financial statements;
  • Perform account reconciliations and support month-end activities, including preparing backup for journal entries;
  • Aid in the preparation of various tax filings and investment reports;
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner;
  • Recognize and act on opportunities to enhance processes whenever possible, make suggestions regarding process improvements and efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business and/or accounting;
  • 1-3 years experience in finance;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and strong technical abilities, including: proficiency in spreadsheet preparation the ability to operate within a computerized accounting environment;
  • Results oriented with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail;
  • Problem solving and analysis skills;
  • Ability to organize tasks and priorities effectively to meet deadlines;
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work well both independently and with others;
  • Excellent communication skills and able to deliver information clearly and confidently, orally and in writing, as you work with both internal and external partners;
  • Bilingualism (English/ French) is considered an asset.
