Job Description:
As part of TD's Marketing department, the North American Growth Marketing team is responsible for leading our digital marketing and 1:1 Marketing. The team carries the mandate to build the digital marketing ecosystem and enable personalized 1:1 communications at all interactions with our customers.
We are seeking a detail-oriented HTML Developer to join our Salesforce COE. In this role, you will be responsible for coding responsive and accessible HTML-based assets, such as marketing emails, web banners, and landing pages. Your work will support a wide range of customer-facing campaigns and initiatives, driving engagement across the bank's digital ecosystem. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in HTML/CSS, a working knowledge of email and web standards, and an understanding of the compliance and accessibility requirements unique to the financial services industry.
Responsibilities
• Develop, test, and maintain responsive HTML code for:
• Marketing emails (for Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar platforms)
• Microsites, landing pages, and digital banners
• In-platform messages (web, mobile, EasyWeb, etc.)
• Ensure all digital assets are:
• Mobile responsive
• Compatible with major browsers and devices
• Aligned to WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines
• CASL- and privacy-compliant
• Work collaboratively with designers, copywriters, and marketing managers to bring creative concepts to life.
• Maintain and update reusable templates and components for scale and consistency.
• Conduct cross-client testing and perform QA to ensure code quality and functionality.
• Stay current with HTML best practices, coding standards, and digital accessibility laws applicable in Canada.
Professional Experience
• 2+ years of experience in HTML/CSS development, preferably in a digital marketing or communications environment.
• Proficient in responsive email and web development.
• Knowledge of media queries, inline styles, and email client compatibility (e.g., Outlook, Gmail, mobile clients).
• Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Manager, or similar CMS/ESP platforms is an asset.
• Understanding of CASL, AODA, and WCAG compliance is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, maintainable code.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Litmus or other email testing tools.
• Basic understanding of JavaScript or AMPscript is a plus.
• Experience in the banking or financial services industry is a strong asset.
