Coroner Services is an independent and publicly accountable investigation of death agency. Coroner Services is mandated to review all suspicious or questionable deaths in New Brunswick, conduct inquests as may be required by law or public interest and does not have a vested interest of any kind in the outcome of death investigations.
What you will do
The successful candidate will be responsible will be responsible for providing administrative services to the Chief Coroner, as well as the general public and all levels of staff within the office. Responsibilities include providing general information, responding to a wide range of routine and telephone inquiries and/or walk-in clients, evaluating inquiries, and directing clients and/or the general public to the appropriate employee or resource. Work will also include: filing, photocopying, handling of incoming and outgoing mail, performing data entry, preparation of correspondence, word processing records management, taking minutes and scheduling meetings and maintaining a supplies inventory. Other tasks may include: Compilation of statistical analysis from Coroner data base, preparation of Jury summons, and processing invoices. Other duties may be assigned as required.

- Office location: 12 McGloin Street, Fredericton
- Office layout: open office with cubicles
- Your Team: small team under 15 people
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30

You possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to problem-solve creatively and to think on your feet. The successful applicant, displaying a high degree of initiative and integrity, must also have excellent organizational skills, priority identification skills and must move readily between tasks in a dynamic environment. Must be able communicate effectively with very emotionally charged conversations, treat people in a polite and professional manner being courteous and always showing kindness. You are concerned for the wellbeing of New Brunswickers.

Need to have (their essential skills and qualifications)
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of a one (1) year post-secondary diploma in a related field
- Three (3) years related work experience in an office environment
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history clearance and security clearance check.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English and spoken competence in French is required, please state your language capability

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirement is also required:
- Valid class 5 driver's licence

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.
Wage
$1,625 to $ 1,971 Biweekly depending on education and experience
