• Lead Compliance execution of model oversight mandate in accordance with the Global Compliance Model Oversight Policy and Standards, including delivery of Compliance Model Reviews and Compliance monitoring engagements
• Drive a culture of compliance and Responsible AI at TD by building strong relationships across the model community at TD and within Compliance
• Promote organizational understanding and alignment on model compliance risks via: 1) reporting on Compliance Model Oversight's activities and findings to senior leadership (including to Compliance leadership and Segments), and 2) owning Compliance's relationship with AI-related executive forums and committees
• Own Compliance's research agenda to support and enhance effective AI / Generative AI governance at TD. Key deliverables may include formal guidance, positions papers and research publications on model compliance risk matters and AI technologies
• Own Compliance's monitoring of the external landscape on AI oversight and Responsible AI, contributing thought leadership to external bodies and efforts to advance to Responsible AI.
• Own AI advisory work and internal AI system development to support departmental initiatives and vendor sourcing to integrate AI into Compliance workflows
• Lead Compliance Model Oversight's support of Compliance Partners and Risk Owners in responding regulator requests for information and engagements related to AI
• Lead Compliance Model Oversight's support of regulatory change management activities for AI-related laws, rules, and regulations.
• Own Compliance Model Oversight's talent strategy and FTE management, including succession planning
• Set "tone at the top" in support of a strong risk & compliance culture within Compliance and across the enterprise.
• With business and other Risk partners promote a strong governance & control environment with periodic assessments against industry practices
• With Risk, ensure that the Bank operates within the compliance risk appetite and that operational risk from a Compliance standpoint is being effectively mitigated, assessed, and managed.
• Keeps current on emerging risks, trends and evolving regulatory requirements for Compliance and the QM and QAR teams.
• Builds positive, diverse, and open work environment by continually improving the efficiency, sharing deep knowledge and skills, and encouraging the team to deliver results.
• Attracts, develops, retains talent, and maintains an active talent pipeline.
Job Requirements:
• University degree required: Post Graduate degree preferred (preferably in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related quantitative field)
• Demonstrated thought leadership and technical expertise in data science both through internal and external initiatives, including previous experience overseeing AI systems
• Engagement with emerging AI governance standards and practices
• Strong sense of personal ownership for effectively bridge technical and non-technical disciplines and stakeholders, and track record of doing so
• Familiarity with regulations and compliance strategies and risk management; possesses and demonstrates expertise in the advisory, policy, change management, project management and operations
• Highest personal and professional integrity and standards to advance TD's vision and protect the brand
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking/presentation skills and well developed listening and negotiation skills at all levels
• People leadership and management experience focused on talent development and coaching to nurture a high performing team
• Advances TD's leadership development, colleague experience & diversity agenda
• Strong relationship building and negotiation skills and the ability to interact with sensitivity and leadership to advance and influence the culture Compliance aims to promote
• Transparent communicator and respected TD representative, both internally and externally
