The Opportunity:
We're seeking a motivated and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the daily operations on our construction sites in Nova Scotia. If you are proactive, skilled in leadership, and thrive in a dynamic environment, this could be the role for you.
What You'll Do:
- Leadership on Site: Act as the primary site leader for all trades and contractors, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration to maintain project quality and timelines.
- Project Start-Up and Review: Review project plans with the Project Manager (PM), ensuring all required documentation and scope details are understood and accessible.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot on-site issues as they arise; escalate project-related concerns to the PM as necessary for resolution.
- Customer Service: Serve as a direct point of contact for Owners and Clients on site, ensuring clear communication of expectations and progress throughout each project phase.
- Risk & Safety Management: Manage site safety inspections, reporting, and compliance, ensuring that all trades complete necessary safety training and onboarding.
- Quality Control: Regularly inspect work completed by trades and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project plans and quality standards.
- Closeout Activities: Lead all closeout activities, ensuring a thorough project wrap-up and documentation.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience in a similar role is required, with five years preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end building construction processes, with a solid understanding of construction trade practices.
- Strong oral and written skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); the ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; proven ability to build relationships and lead dynamic teams on site.
