Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Logistics Branch within the Health Services Division as a Supplies Courier at the Chaleur Regional Hospital.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• transporting specimens, supplies, linens, medication and equipment
• delivering carts containing general supplies such as cleaning solutions and paper; reusable supplies such as bedpans and basins; medical supplies such as dressings, diapers, pads, and procedure trays;
• using a forklift where required.
• retrieving soiled supplies for reprocessing, such as operating room case carts, scopes, basins and bedpans;
• retrieving soiled linen carts, delivering clean linen carts and retrieving and delivering specimens
• distributing and restocking supplies and linens

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess:

• Graduation from high school or successful completion of G.E.D.
• Written and spoken competence in English or French

An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Variable work schedule which may include working evenings and weekends, as well as travel throughout the province.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 New Brunswick Vehicle Operator License. Please attach a copy of your driver's license and a current Driver's Abstract (available from Service New Brunswick) with your application.
• Possession of a valid certificate of training in the transportation of dangerous goods.
• Candidates will be required to undergo a Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

Hourly Rate: $ 24.54 – Canadian Union of Public Employees – Local 1190
