Objective
Reporting to the Manager, Pre-production – A Pre-press Operator is responsible for participating in a
team environment, must be able to prefight and problem solve client supplied files, colour correction and
proofs for customer approval. The incumbent ensures timely and high-quality colour reproduction job
completion and delivery, while adhering to processes that are in place for the smooth operation of the
department, and to corporate compliance requirements. The incumbent serves as a subject expert in
pre-press related matters. The incumbent sets individual goals and delivers pre-press services in
alignment with departmental objectives, operating requirements and with the needs and mission of the
company.
- Works collaboratively as part of a team to complete and deliver pre-press colour reproduction work for customers' campaigns
- Colour corrects files using current graphics software and prepares/RIPs files for printing with workflow programs and updates job status in internal docket system
- Provides technical advice, reviews schedules, colour revisions, assembly revisions with Prepress, Creative, Production & Operations teams
- Follows outlined project requirements, production methods and schedules in accordance with established timelines and within established budgetary constraints
- Owns shared responsibility to create and maintain a safe, healthy workplace culture and a work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and where workplace violence, harassment and bullying are not tolerated from any person in the workplace by acting in compliance with applicable legislation and company safe work procedures and practices, as required by applicable company policies
- Stays current with emerging trends and provides input on issues or concerns as they relate to the position
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned undefined
- Prior experience of file assembly for print, for both digital printers and litho press (minimum 1-2 years)
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
- Proficient with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Effective planning, prioritization, organization, multi-tasking and time management skills to meet deadlines, multiple projects and changing priorities with a high level of detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
