Reporting to the Regional Outpatient Department Manager, the Specialist Booking Clerk will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the specialists and visiting specialists at LHC, as well as booking for all specialist clinics.

Qualifications:
? Graduation from high school or equivalent, supplemented by successful completion of a two-year Diploma in Office
Administration, from a recognized post-secondary institution;
? Successful completion of a keyboarding/data entry test may be required;
? Ability to perform data entry;
? Successful completion of an approved Medical Terminology program OR willingness to complete within a reasonable
timeframe to be set by the employer;
? Effective communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with clients, staff and the general public, especially
under stressful situations;
? Excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task;
? Ability to work independently with limited supervision;
? Knowledge of Meditech and EMR would be an asset;
? The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Include but not limited to):
? Book all specialist clinics;
? Communicate with visiting specialists in the coordination of clinics;
? Prepare, maintain and update lists of visiting specialists;
? Receive consults from local physicians;
? Maintain comprehensive pending lists for specialist new referrals/rechecks in EMR and Meditech as required;
? Ensure appropriate follow up appointments for patients are booked in EMR or Meditech system;
? Receive and address urgent messages for specialists;
? Ensure all physician consults are logged and completed as required;
? May be required to provide multi-site coverage;
? Assist patients with telehealth needs, including setting up weekly telehealth clinics for LHC specialists;
? Assist booking clerks during busy periods;
? Communicate with patients at the request of specialist;
? Other related duties as required
