The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cruise Terminal Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bustling cruise terminal. As the Cruise Terminal Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and safe handling of cruise ships and the passengers.
Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Security, the Cruise Terminal Manager is the lead onsite person during the 2025 cruise season, per cruise terminal, for each cruise ship call and will complete the following tasks and duties in a professional and confidential manner.
Your Focus:
- Complete all mandatory training programs as required.
- Complete all required documentation including but not limited to: Vessel tracking sheet and tailgate talk.
- Oversee all Port Saint John employees that are under your direction. Ensuring that their time is used effectively, and their conduct is supportive of company values.
- Lead by example and promote a respectful and harmonious relationships amongst all stakeholders.
- Enter your hours worked into our pay system for approval in a timely and accurate manner.
- Use your time on duty as effectively as possible. This includes prepping for future cruise calls when possible.
- Ensuring the health and safety of cruise passengers, staff, and operators is the top priority.
- Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
- Ensure proper security measures are in place and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all facilities and staff represent an excellence in the passenger cruise experience.
- Interact with the ships' staff, including acceptance of the declaration of security (DOS) on behalf of the Manager of Corporate Security.
- Monitor and manage parking lot activities to ensure the safety and convenience of passengers, staff and operators.
- Oversee operations on the pier to guarantee safe and orderly processes.
- During operations that occur after business hours, on holidays, or weekends, ensure that the terminal is secure to limit our exposure to vandalism, theft and potential breaches of security.
- Send pre-arrival communication to various external and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment for expectations and operational excellence.
- Prepare a daily report detailing the day's operations, including any issues encountered and the measures taken to remedy them and submit to the Manager of Corporate Security at the end of each shift.
You Have:
- Eligibility for Marine Transportation Security Clearance through Transport Canada
- Valid Driver's license.
- Eligibility to become Marine Facility Security Officer Certified
- 5+ years of experience in operations management
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
