The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Engineering Co-op Student to join our team in Thompson. This is 12 month fixed term co-op position starting in 2025.

The successful Engineering Co-op student you will role will assist the Mines Engineering team in the design and execution of the production plan. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with their peers in the engineering team and cross functionally with other areas of the operations.

Additionally, as an Engineering Co-op Student, you will;

• Assist in designing of stopes using Deswik mine design software
• Monitor and analyze data daily for all production activities
• Assist in scheduling operations work and schedules
• Work closely with the mine operations team

Education:

• Currently enrolled and in good standing in an Engineering program with strong computer skills
• Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical and Mining disciplines will be considered
• Please include university transcript(s) with your application
• Preference will be given to students in 3rd year or higher

Experience:

• Experience in a similar role would be an asset

Skills:

• Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 products (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook), with a basic to intermediate understanding of Deswik or other mine planning software preferred. (does this apply to this role)
• Strong verbal, written, and analytical communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
