The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Commercial Reporting Nickel and Cobalt to join our Nickel & Cobalt Commercial team in Toronto.
This is a permanent hybrid position.
As a Senior Analyst, Commercial Reporting Nickel and Cobalt, you will be responsible for generating reports and analyzing results based on executed Nickel and Cobalt sales and revenue recognition at the end of each month-closing. The role involves forecasting Nickel and Cobalt sales based on sales plans and contractual commercial terms, serving various departments such as Nickel and Cobalt Sales Planning, S&OP, Accounting, FP&A, and Internal Controls. Your experience and skill will allow you to consolidate and validates reports, conducts business analysis, and prepares monthly/quarterly/annual dashboards for performance meetings, including the calculation of NRP, netback, premium, and other KPIs.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Generate comprehensive Nickel and Cobalt sales reports at month-end closing, consolidating and validating information for internal stakeholders, including Provisional Price Adjustments (PPAs) for products with future Quotational Periods (QPs).
- Collaborate closely with the S&OP and Nickel and Cobalt Sales Planning teams to submit D+30 volume and revenue sales forecasts based on sales plans for monthly MBRs and other stakeholders.
- Foster integrated relationships with other departments, including production, strategic planning, investor relations, finance, and business development.
- Drive continuous improvement in reconciliation, sales, and inventory forecasting processes for nickel and cobalt.
- Lead initiatives to implement IT tools and systems to automate planning processes, reducing manual efforts.
About You
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 of experience in a sales reporting or analytical role, preferably in the mining or metals industry.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (Power Bi, excel, VBA, python) for handling large volumes of data for analysis.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets, understanding the underlying concepts and insights.
- Strong focus on process optimization and efficiency, ensuring accurate and meaningful reporting of data
- Ability to see the 'big picture' while paying attention to the details and accuracy
- Proficiency in ERP software (SAP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage process, handle deadlines and push performance culture
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
