Job Description:

Department Overview:

The Global Equity Derivatives Technology team is a critical part of TDS Cross Asset, Platform & Architecture group covering technical planning, integration, systems analysis, design, development, unit and component systems testing, and support-maintenance for the Global Equity Derivatives business.

The goal of Global Equity Derivatives Technology is to facilitate front-to-back-to-risk capital markets activity by leveraging strategic technical design and the provisioning of efficient, extensible, and sustainable solutions from the enterprise IT level down to the implementation of analytics.

Our key stakeholders include project managers representing different interests and projects within TD Securities, Front Office traders, Market Risk Control / Capital Market Risk Management, Accounting, Upstream execution platforms & downstream P&L and risk reporting systems, operation teams, etc.

Role Description:

We are looking for Experienced Developers to work on projects within Equity Derivatives IT. Successful applicants will design and develop technology solutions for stakeholders (primarily trading) within the Equity Derivatives technology solution as well as technology platforms for internal consumption. The work might include non-functional enhancements (e.g. performance / stability) to the risk tech stack, incorporating new products, improving the existing risk system's capabilities or progress towards our future state architecture.

The team employs an agile development methodology and work is prioritized by our stakeholders on an ongoing "just in time" basis. A strong emphasis is placed on software engineering skills.

Finally collaboration is key so good communication skills are essential as well as a collaborative spirit. Candidates are also expected to comply with the bank's in-office requirements.

Key Requirements

  • JavaScript with experience in Node.js on back end and knowledge of Angular on front end

  • Nice to have are experience in C#, Typescript and Python

  • DBs: Oracle / Mongo

  • Middleware exposure are useful e.g. MQ / Caching

  • Microservices and event driven architectures

  • Azure knowledge/experience is also useful since more and more work is cloud based.

Experience

  • 5+ years of JavaScript development experience on backend and front end

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks including Angular

  • Experience with relational databases including Oracle , MS-SQL and no-sql including MongoDB

  • Working with capital markets FO domain (preferably equity derivatives) is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's / Master's Degree (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Finance).

  • Good understanding of fundamental design principles behind service oriented and distributed systems

  • Good understanding of message bus/queue like IBM MQ/Solace/Kafka.

  • Strong analytics and communication skills including ability to drive diverse group towards. common goal and clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions.

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery models, building CI/CD pipelines

  • Continuous learner with good understanding of new technology trends and ability to promote innovative solutions.

  • Experience in hybrid cloud environments, Kubernetes, Azure
