Intermediate Hydrogeologist

We currently have an opening for a full-time Intermediate Hydrogeologist in New Brunswick. With offices in Bathurst, Grand Falls, Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John GEMTEC is open to flexible work arrangements individuals residing in New Brunswick to work from any one of our NB locations.
The successful candidate should have the following:
Educational & Experience Requirements:
- Completion of a relevant university degree(s) in hydrogeology, engineering, or geology (advanced/graduate level degrees considered an asset).
- Understanding of applicable Provincial and Federal regulations.
- Groundwater data collection and analysis.
- Familiarity with flow and transport modelling experience using industry standard software is considered and asset.
- Experience with Water Supply Source Assessments in NB, and the performance of pumping tests.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment where teamwork and collaboration are paramount.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an unwavering commitment to quality.
- Provide mentorship and technical coaching to junior technical staff.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with clients.
- Experience liaising with clients, stakeholders and agencies, including public consultation and presentations would be an asset.
Main Duties:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in the following:
- Provide field and technical support to a wide variety of hydrogeology and environmental projects; including the preparation and supervision of field programs, data collection, data analysis, and technical report writing and proposal preparation in collaboration with senior staff.
- Design and conduct field investigations such as drilling and core logging, test pitting, soil and bedrock characterization, monitoring well installation, hydraulic response testing, soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water sampling, installation of groundwater instrumentation.
- Assisting intermediate and senior staff prepare technical proposals and reports including, hydrogeology characterization assessments, impact assessments, construction dewatering assessments, groundwater supply studies, environmental site assessments, remediation, and groundwater and surface water monitoring reports.
- Other duties as required.
Position:
- Full time salaried position (37.5 hours per week), overtime eligible.
