Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Pharmacy, Eastern Urban and Rural Zones, this position is responsible for the management and operational leadership of pharmacy services in community-based settings provincially, including but not limited to primary care, mental health and addictions, and correctional facilities. The Provincial Pharmacy Manager is responsible for planning, development, integration, and ongoing leadership of clinical pharmacy services provided by pharmacists as members of interdisciplinary teams in community-based settings. The Provincial Pharmacy Manager collaborates with Pharmacy Managers internally and externally through contracted pharmacy vendors to ensure the quality, efficiency, and safety of medication distribution across community-based settings. The successful candidate will enhance a culture of collaboration across multiple clinical programs and leads the standardization, planning, evaluation, and expansion of clinical pharmacy services within communities.
As a member of the Provincial Pharmacy leadership team, the manager participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Provincial Pharmacy Program strategic directions and objectives as well as process improvement projects. The manager liaises with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results and is responsible for the efficient and effective use of resources; financial management including operating budget accountability; and human resources management including performance reviews and attendance management. Periodic travel to multiple sites within the province is required.
Job Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an approved School of Pharmacy is required.
Completion of a hospital residency program is an asset.
Master's degree in Health Administration, Public Administration, Business or a related field is an asset.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last seven (7) in a hospital pharmacy environment with experience with managing projects of a complex nature.
