Job Title: Kinu Database Assistant (5 Positions Available) - Temporary up to August 29, 2025

Location: To be determined based on the location of the successful applicant. Options are as follows: Corner Brook, Glenwood, Gander, Grand Falls-Windsor, St. George's and Stephenville, NL

Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Salary: $17.30/hour

Job Description:

Kinu is the membership database of Qalipu First Nation, playing a key role in connecting the Band with its members. It helps maintain communications for elections, general updates, and other important outreach efforts. By ensuring member contact information remains accurate and up to date, Kinu enhances engagement, strengthens community ties, and ensures members receive timely announcements and services. To support this effort, Kinu Database Assistants will be hired from May to August to contact members to verify their information.

Responsibilities:

· Contact Information Updates: Call or email members to verify and update their contact details.

· Data Enty and Management: Accurately input and maintain member information in the database.

· Member Support: Answer general questions from members and provide assistance when needed.

· Reporting and Documentation: Keep accurate records of updates made and report any issues or tends.

· Confidentiality and Compliance: Protect member information by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy policies.

Qualifications:

Education:

The preferred candidate will be pursing or recently completed a post-secondary education degree or diploma in a related discipline such as Information Technology, Business Administration, Office Administration, and/or Community Studies. A combination of relevant education, employment and/or volunteer experience will also be considered.

Experience:

This position is meant to provide meaningful work experience to an Indigenous student, or a recent post-secondary graduate. Discretion and emphasis on protecting the confidentiality of all information collected is imperative. The following skills will be deemed an asset:

· Strong organization and time management skills related to communications, gathering, and filing information and routine office work;

· Excellent communication skills;

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as required;

· Working knowledge of Microsoft computer software programs; and,

· Excellent interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

This position is office based with duties predominantly met during regular business hours. Flexibility of work schedule may be required where circumstances permit.

Full-time Term Employee Benefits:

Annual Leave: FT employees - Three weeks per year.

Statutory and Non-Statutory Holidays: Employees are entitled to 13 days off to cover Statutory and Non-statutory holidays per year.

Summer Office Hours: Office hours during the summer months are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Thursday, Friday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. The schedule starts the first long weekend in May and continues until the last week of September.

Christmas Break: the office closes down during the Christmas break; this is an added bonus that employees are entitled to.

FT Sick and Family Medical: Full Time Employees are entitled to 12 paid sick/family medical days per year.

Under 2 hours Medical Appointment: Employees may attend an appointment of less than 2 hours with no deductions to Sick and Family Medical.

Discretionary Bereavement: One day off per year for the death of a relative not included as immediate family, a close friend or neighbour.

Volunteer Program: Employees may volunteer outside of the organization up to 21 hours per year.
