Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Community Education and Services is a key member of the executive management team, responsible for overseeing and providing strategic leadership to CMHANB's community services, education and training services, and support services. This senior leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the development, coordination, and delivery of high-quality, client-centered programs across these areas. The Senior Director will work closely with other executive leaders to align departmental goals with CMHANB's mission, values, and strategic objectives, driving innovation and growth while ensuring operational excellence and sustainability in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Vision:
- Provide visionary leadership for the community services, education and training services, and support services, ensuring alignment with CMHANB's overall mission and strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with other senior leaders to set strategic goals, direction, and organizational priorities for community and educational services.
- Drive organizational change, innovation, and growth by leading teams toward the achievement of long-term objectives and the continuous improvement of services.
Program Oversight & Management:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs within the community services, education and training services, and support services, ensuring they are effective, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
- Ensure programs are accessible, inclusive, and designed to meet the mental health, employment, and educational needs of individuals in New Brunswick.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs, services, and initiatives, making data-driven adjustments to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and provide ongoing support to the directors and managers of each team under the community education and services umbrella, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Promote professional development and create opportunities for staff growth and skill enhancement within all teams, ensuring they are equipped to meet evolving community needs.
- Ensure strong teamwork and communication across departments, encouraging a shared commitment to CMHANB's vision and goals.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, government agencies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders to strengthen the delivery of mental health and educational services.
- Represent CMHANB in meetings, public forums, and advocacy efforts, promoting awareness of mental health issues and community-based services.
- Identify partnership opportunities and work with stakeholders to develop collaborative initiatives that enhance program reach and impact.
Financial & Resource Management:
- Lead the budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation for the community services, education and training services, and support services, ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor program expenditures and assess the financial health of each service area, making adjustments as needed to maintain fiscal responsibility while maximizing program outcomes.
- Seek out new funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to support program growth and expansion.
Policy & Advocacy:
- Stay informed on the latest mental health, education, and policy trends to ensure CMHANB remains at the forefront of community service delivery.
- Advocate for policy change and the integration of mental health services into public systems, ensuring that CMHANB's programs align with best practices and legislative requirements.
- Work with government and other organizations to influence policies that promote mental health awareness, support services, and educational programming in the province.
Evaluation & Reporting:
- Establish and oversee mechanisms for the ongoing evaluation of services, ensuring they meet program goals and deliver measurable outcomes for individuals and communities.
- Provide regular reports on program performance, client impact, and team achievements to the CEO and Board of Directors, utilizing data to drive decision-making and improvements.
- Use feedback from clients, stakeholders, and team members to continuously refine and enhance programs and services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Public Administration, Health Sciences, or a related field.
- Progressive leadership experience in community services, education and training, mental health, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation within a non-profit, public sector, or healthcare setting.
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing large-scale programs and initiatives.
- A combination of related work experience and education may be considered.
- Strong background in stakeholder engagement, partnership development, and advocacy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, secure funding, and ensure financial sustainability of programs.
- Knowledge of mental health policies, service delivery models, and community-based approaches to mental wellness.
- Proficiency in both English and French languages is mandatory
- Residency in New Brunswick (NB) or willingness to relocate is mandatory.
- A valid Work Permit is mandatory for temporary residents.
- A new Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory.

Working Conditions:
- Work Environment:
o Primarily based in an office setting with flexibility for remote work as needed.

- Work Hours:
o Full-time position with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours.
