TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract, Temporary
CONTRACT: Short Term Contract; Estimate One (1) Month
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Two (2)
JOB SUMMARY:
Ensure that the galley and cleaning activities, and the preparation of the meals contributes to an optimum care for the crew in compliance with safety, maritime and environmental regulations.
PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least One (1) Year of relevant operational experience on board.
- Quality orientation
- Result driven
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational:
- Assist the (Chief) Cook with the daily preparations of all meals.
- Clean galley, messrooms and storerooms.
- Clean and upkeep all cabins and accommodation/public areas.
- Execute laundry services for crew.
- Other duties as assigned.
QHSE:
- Maintain the safety and environmental regulations on the assigned equipment.
- Make sure the Van Oord Management System, company policies as well as the standing instructions are executed.
- Comply with all national, international and local maritime law and regulations as well as industry standards.
- Report all incidents and near misses according to the company policy and engage during safety drills.
Communication:
- Discuss with and advise the Master, (Chief) Cook about methods to optimize the daily work
Administration:
- Assist the (Chief) Cook with administration according catering company guidelines.
- Upkeep of cleaning checklists.
