Job Description:

Department Overview:

Customer:

  • Oversee /lead/ or manage events that require alignment across multiple areas including ownership of event vendor relationships

  • Manage and lead vendor and stakeholder relationships as required and deal with individuals at all levels of the organization, holding them accountable

  • Act as a strategic partner by leading relationships with key enterprise partners and interfacing with respective leadership team to effectively manage event planning function

  • Negotiates contracts, reviews clauses, and may sign contracts in within approved authority, escalates as required

  • Recognize and anticipate emerging trends and identify issues, opportunities and recommend action to senior management

  • Ensure integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across the overall function providing escalations, recommendations and decision support to leadership

  • Provide functional / business level communications on event planning activities to ensure messages to stakeholders and /or internal / external partners are consistent, appropriate and aligned to business strategies and management direction

Shareholder:

  • Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plans, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale

  • Plan and execute on strategic activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly

  • Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies

  • Own, and manage assigned event budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness

  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements / modifications, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement

  • Prioritizing and managing own workload and the workload of team members in order to deliver quality results and meet timelines

  • Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs, and practices related to own area of expertise

  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions / activities as necessary

  • Follow emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment to the Bank's risk appetite

  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable about industry best-practices, internal policies and expectations, and team responsibilities/accountabilities; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

  • Contribute to the development of business segment and/or enterprise functional strategic priorities within their operational area or field of specialty

  • Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams

  • Support an environment where team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes

  • Foster a cohesive team; promote a fair and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce and encourage the team to achieve common goals and objectives

  • Act as a brand ambassador for your business area/function and the bank, both internally and/or externally

  • Apply appropriate due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all required documentation (i.e. reports, PPT Decks, correspondence/communications, etc.)

  • Travel (in/outside Canada) is required for this position

Breadth & Depth:

Proven skills and abilities in the following areas are a must:

  • Highly motivated individual with a proven track record to deliver results

  • Breadth of experience is critical: proven project management experience is preferred

  • Experience with third party vendors with proven ability to influence and impact others, articulate opinions and proactively provide solutions

  • Establishes effective relationships with different Stakeholders, Vendors, Business Sponsors, Executives and LOB

  • Strong organizational, follow-up and priority-setting skills to handle multiple tasks/projects and to work independently.

  • Sound to advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function / business

  • Ability to remain flexible with shifting priorities and ability to function under deadlines with minimal supervision, prioritizing multiple initiatives managing time effectively

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating and decision-making skills. Ability to resolve ambiguity and transform vision into execution

  • High degree of professionalism to be able to present and interact with senior executives

  • Ability to develop, maintain and build positive relationships with partners while demonstrating tact and diplomacy to impact and influence at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to remain resilient during high stress situations

  • Superior knowledge of MS Teams, WebEx Meetings, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel & Outlook

  • Must have valid passport to be able to travel in/outside of Canada
