In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 - Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for enhancing the donor experience to improve engagement and satisfaction.
  • Manage expense budgets for donor engagement programs.
  • Provide strategic leadership in defining compelling cases for philanthropic support and collaborate with direct reports to articulate program and funding needs.
  • Ensure the delivery of an exemplary, donor-centric experience.

Responsibility 2 - Team and Relationship Management:

  • Provide leadership to direct reports through coaching, mentoring, training, and development opportunities, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors and stakeholders to glean donor feedback and insights.
  • Participate in appeal planning, preparation, and response as needed.
  • Contribute to a One Red Cross approach to fundraising and develop positive and collaborative working relationships with Philanthropy colleagues and key partners across the organization.

Responsibility 3 - Donor Engagement and Recognition:

  • Develop and implement stewardship programs that convey the impact of donations and foster donor loyalty.
  • Lead the creation and management of donor recognition programs, which include communications and personalized acknowledgments.
  • Plan and oversee donor engagement and appreciation events.
  • Oversee the acknowledgment of gifts and the recognition of major donors and corporate partners.
  • Lead the development of compelling donor-centric tools and assets to keep donors informed and engaged.

Responsibility 4 - Data-Driven Insights:

  • Achieve essential metrics related to donor satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Collect and analyze data concerning fundraising campaigns, donor behaviors, and overall performance.
  • Generate reports and visualizations to convey data-driven insights.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis to improve donor engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and marketing teams to create data-driven strategies and optimize campaigns.

What we are looking for :

  • Post-secondary education with a background in fundraising, sales, or marketing is preferred.
  • 12 years of job-related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and a proven track record of creating and implementing successful donor experience strategies across all fundraising channels.
  • Leadership and senior management experience, with the ability to mentor and motivate a diverse team.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications, fundraising software, and donor management systems.
  • Visionary thinking and advanced persuasion, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset.

Working Conditions :

  • Primarily office-based in a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work required.
  • Occasional travel to attend meetings/conferences and respond to emergencies.
