JOB PURPOSE

The Painter is responsible for performing painting work at the journeyman level.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must hold a Provincial Certificate of Qualification issued under the Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification Act as a painter.
• Must have two years of experience.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Painter is responsible for:

• Planning work and estimating time and materials
• Repairing or preparing surfaces for painting
• Finishing drywall including crack filling and sanding
• Applying finishing, wall coverings and paint
• Removing flooring, preparing subfloors and installing tiles
• Refinishing furniture
• Painting and lettering signs
