The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Operations Scheduler to join our team in the Integrated Operations Scheduling (IOS) Department at Garson mine in Sudbury, Ontario.
This is a permanent on-site position, working dayshifts, Monday to Friday.
As an Operations Scheduler, you will be accountable for the continuous improvement of the Integrated Operations Scheduling team's performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures. You will also be accountable for the scheduling of all planned work for the Garson Mine operations.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Be a key member of the Integrated Operations Scheduling team to develop the mine (0-12 weeks) schedule for all operations (including production, development, filling, etc) utilizing resources.
- Liaison with the Operations team on the mine schedule and priorities and work with the operations planner closely to schedule required work.
- Coordinate and facilitate all required planning/scheduling routines. Contribute to and provide priority work by coordinating and scheduling all interactions based on priorities across departments (operations, maintenance, logistics, etc.).
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the "work schedule".
- Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets. Work with daily tracking of operations work execution and update metrics.
- Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
- Understand and run Deswik Ops.
- Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, MTS, maintenance, etc.
About You
Education:
- College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a planning, scheduling, or reliability role is required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in operations is required.
- Experience working underground is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, SAP, and Prometheus add-on.
Skills:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
