Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Business Application Services Branch as a Programmer Analyst.

What will you be doing?
As a member of the Business Applications Services team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting business application systems for a variety of clients. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Providing day to day application development, maintenance and support functions
- Interacting with various stakeholders (Business Team, Application Support Team, DBAs, other development teams) to collect and understand client and technical requirements
- Estimating effort and timelines for the implementation of proposed solutions
- Developing, documenting, programming, testing and implementing technical solutions to meet business requirements
- Conducting preventative maintenance, which includes changes to the applications that would improve system performance or application usability
- Providing support to Business Owners for user acceptance testing
- Collaborating with other teams within Technology Services to investigate and ensure implementation of effective system solutions
- Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
What do you need to be successful?
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A university degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years related experience in system development OR a two (2) year college diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in system development.
Recent demonstrated work experience in:
- Java development or ASP.Net, VB.Net, or C#.Net
- SQL server, SQL server procedures and SQL functions
Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required; however French is an asset for this position.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience in development with server-based reporting tools such as SQL Server Reporting Services
- Eperience in ASP.Net, VB.Net, or C#.Net development
- Experience in SQL Server 2014 or higher
- Experience in Oracle Databases 11g or 12c or higher
- Experience with support of Development toolsets such as Visual Studio.Net 2015 or higher
- Experience with Web Forms, Windows Forms, MVC, Web Services, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery
- Experience with software development methodologies
- Experience or training in analysis and system requirements development
- Experience with support of in-house as well as Commercial Off the Shelf applications (COTS)
- Experience with training in business analysis and system requirements development
- Experience working in an Agile or Semi-Agile environment.
- Experience using other technology related tools in support of day to day work such as Team Foundation Server (TFS), Remedy, Clarity.
- Experiencewith .Net Core/.Net 5+ and/or framework

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Some weekday evening and weekend work hours may be required on occasion.

Salary: $57,616- $80,574 annually â?? Pay Band 4 - Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
