The Battle Harbour Historic Trust is a not for profit which operates and preserves the Battle Harbour National Historic District in Southern Labrador. We provide accommodations, meals, tours, entertainment, and deeply authentic experiences for our guests. Battle Harbour is fast becoming a bucket list destination for world travelers.

We are looking for a hard working, friendly, team player with excitement and dedication in serving our guests. Satisfying our guests depends on the united efforts of all staff, which you will be a key player. You will ferry our guests to and from Mary's Harbour to Battle Harbour once daily in our 42' Cape Islander Trinity Pride with up to 32 passengers and two crew. It is a 75 minute trip each way.

Marine Qualifications:

  • Master, Limited for a vessel of less than 60 gross tonnage
  • Current marine medical,
  • Current marine basic first aid

Duties

  • All tasks required to operate, navigate and maintain Trinity Pride as seaworthy, in good running order, safe and reliable.
  • Ensuring Trinity Pride is kept clean and tidy - especially those areas that are used by, or visible to passengers.
  • Ensuring boat safety briefings in accordance with Transport Canada requirements are given to passengers and crew on each ferry crossing.
  • Providing services in support of the Trust's activities between Trinity Pride's arrival and departure times at both the Trust's Mary's Harbour and Battle Island locations. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, loading of passenger luggage, moving of the Trust's goods between locations, other tasks that can be accomplished between scheduled ferry times or requested by the Trust's Manager at Battle Harbour, or Visitor Information Supervisor at Mary's Harbour.
  • Remain in Battle Harbour nightly in case emergency use of Trinity Pride is required.
  • Other specified tasks as identified by the Trust's representative relevant to any of the above.
