About Our Opportunity

As the Human Resources Business Partner with the AGNS, you will play a key role in supporting the Leadership Team and employees on all HR matters. You will develop and tailor HR strategies, programs, policies and guidelines to support the achievement of business objectives, while supporting the day-to-day operations of the AGNS.

More specifically, in this role you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day human resources functions, including but not limited to policy and program development, labour relations, recruitment, and performance management.
  • Address employee concerns and complaints in a timely and confidential manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Collect and evaluate data to solve complex challenges, identify trends, and recommend effective HR strategies.
  • Provide HR policy, legislation and collective agreement guidance and interpretation.
  • Coordinate the organizational Occupational Health and Safety program.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR files, ensuring file integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications and Experience

As the successful candidate, you have post-secondary education in human resources and several years of progressive, practical experience as a Human Resources Business Partner or Generalist.

In addition to the above, the following will be key for success in this role:

  • Proven experience within a complex unionized workplace and interpreting collective agreements and related legislation.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines such as performance management, recruitment, conflict resolution, employee relations, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications and human resources information systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
  • The following will be considered an asset:
  • Experience in policy development.
  • Experience with organizational OH&S programs.

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are: Conceptual Thinking, Strategic Orientation, Outcome Focus, Initiative, Effective Interactive Communication, Partnering and Relationship Building, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency. Salary Range: $3,351.92 - $4,189.95 Bi-Weekly
