Job Summary
This dynamic position is responsible for recruiting physicians for NL Health Services. The Regional Physician Recruitment Coordinator will report to NL Health Services Director of Medical Services and be responsible for managing recruitment and/or credentialing positions in Medical Services.
The Regional Physician Recruitment Coordinator plans and directs all recruitment related strategies and activities for the successful recruitment of physicians. Responsibilities include physician resource planning, physician candidate lead generation, sourcing, pre-screening, and appropriate follow-up. This involves extensive relationship building locally, nationally and internationally with students, residents and medical schools to build a pipeline for physicians entering practice; and identifies and develops strategic relationships with the Provincial Government Department of Health, Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of NL, the Canadian Residency Matching Service (CaRMS), and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and others, for success.
This position will act as the primary point of contact for physician recruitment, relationship building with medical students, residents, and practicing physicians within NL Health Services. The role will require a complete understanding of the provincial physician recruitment landscape, including the needs, challenges and strategies for success. The Recruitment Coordinator will also help develop and implement long-term strategies for physician recruitment and retention efforts throughout NL Health Services and provide advice to guide/create recruitment and retention policies, including coordinating data from rural sites for recruitment reports and developing/maintaining the NL Health Services physician recruitment reporting infrastructure. This position will also manage the recruitment incentive process and associated budget for NL Health Services, make recommendations for allocation of all resources (e.g. bursaries, signing bonuses, etc.), organize recruitment events within the medical schools as well as nationally/internationally should opportunities exist, and manage all NL Health Services physician recruitment website content, social media and branding.
Job Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree is required.
A relevant Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five years of recruitment and/or sales/marketing experience is required.
A knowledge of physician/healthcare recruitment is preferred.
Experience managing multiple priorities sometimes in a stressful (tight deadline) situation.
Experience designing on-boarding and retention programs.
