Department: Finance and Treasury Board, Future GNB
Placement Description: Join the Future GNB team as they develop their high school expansion, enabling high school students to explore careers within the Government of New Brunswick (GNB).
Spend the summer researching career exploration tools, discovering GNB career pathways, and creating resources that connect students to GNB career opportunities. Create content (career quiz, presentations, activities, booklets, etc.) for high school students and leverage your perspective as a student to tailor these resources to your audience.
Developing connections and content internal to GNB will also be an aspect of the project. The team will grow internal marking efforts, meet GNB leaders and mentors to build partnerships, and establish experiential learning opportunities for high school students.
The successful candidate will also work alongside the Future GNB team to assist with Summer 2025 program delivery. This can include administration, strategic planning, hosting roundtables, etc. This role offers an opportunity for skills development with career-focused trainings, self-development workshops, and personalized mentorship. Qualifications:
- Language requirement: English, French, or Bilingual
- Education: Must be either 1) A high school student returning to high school in Fall 2025, or 2) A graduating high school student enrolled in postsecondary for Fall 2025.
Skills/Highlights: The ideal candidate will possess curiosity, creativity, and strong communication skills (written and spoken). The ability work collaborative and independently while taking initiative will be essential for success. Experience or interests any of the following are also considered assets: project planning and project management; digital design, coding, or computer science; graphic design; communications; bilingualism (French and English); public service careers; and research.
