We are thrilled to partner with Irving Shipbuilders in the recruitment of an Intermediate Accountant to bring to their team in Dartmouth.
The Intermediate Accountant will prepare and post journal entries and monitor the general ledger to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and accounting policies. They will also assist with analyzing and communicating the results external and internal.
Responsibilities will include:
- Posting journal entries to accurately maintain the organization's financial records and transactions.
- Working alongside auditors to ensure accurate information is provided in a timely manner.
- Reviewing and reconciling accounts on a period basis to ensure the organization's financial information is free of material error.
- Reviewing and approving order submissions to ensure the account codes comply with company coding policies.
- Weekly reporting to support business decisions and needs.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- CPA designation will be considered an asset but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting.
- Highly self-motivated, innately curious, and solutions focused.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Company Financial Processes.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
