Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Land Registry Unit as a Survey and Title Examiner.

As a member of the Property Mapping & Surveys Team, the successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Interpreting the integrity and accuracy of Land Registry instruments and electronic submissions in the Land Titles and Registry systems
  • Processing applications in accordance with the Land Titles Act, directives and policies
  • Processing and registering plans and documents including verifying compliance to Acts and Regulations with respect to land registration
  • Verifying, updating and maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the land registry, digital property mapping and certain property assessment databases
  • Providing technical assistance to clients, to employees of the Corporation and other government departments and agencies
  • Serving as a technical resource on property mapping and land ownership projects

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma from a recognized technical school with specialized training in geomatics or land surveying, together with three years of related experience in areas such as working with the Land Titles Act and regulations; Land Titles and Registry System; interpreting legal property-related documents and identifying related problems. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of GIS applications such as ArcGIS.
  • Experience using Service New Brunswickâ??s PLANET application.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirements are also required:

  • This position may require some travelling within the province therefore candidates must possess a valid New Brunswick driverâ??s license and have their own means of transportation.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment.

SPECIAL/OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: You must be eligible for appointment as Deputy Registrar.
