Requirements:
- Graduation from University or post secondary institution in Marketing, Business Administration, Arts or Tourism.
- Five (5) years experience in the Tourism industry. An equivalent combination of relevant experience and academic training will also be considered.
- At least five (5) years' experience in tourism-based sales and promotions and/or tourism-based customer service.
- Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and working with external agencies.
- Will possess extensive knowledge of the tourism industry, marketing, development, research, sales, public relations, literature production, and other principles involved in attracting visitors and groups to Fredericton.
- At least two (2) years experience in a direct supervisory role.

Reporting to the Manager of the Tourism Division, the successful candidate will manage the tourism marketing team. They are a leader, a team player, a creative, a great writer, a community connector, and most importantly, they emanate the brand. They will lead a talented and innovative team of creatives to amplify all things that make the Fredericton Capital Region a top Atlantic Canadian destination. They will work closely with tourism industry partners to attract visitors to Fredericton. Ability to multi-task with an attention to detail is essential in this role.
What You'll Do:
- Manage marketing team, providing ongoing supervision, guidance and motivation to staff Develop, plan and implement marketing strategy for Fredericton Capital Region Tourism
- Create and manage multi-channel campaigns with agency partners promoting the Fredericton Capital Region
- Work with team members, stakeholders and tourism industry to create strategic partnerships
- Working closely with the Tourism Accommodation Levy Management Committee, Provincial Tourism partners and others
- Brand management, ensuring continuity in our marketing message and voice
- Oversee the marketing budget
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with other destination marketing organizations and provincial tourism where appropriate
- Oversee Visitor Center operations, staff training, merchandise development, and annual budget
- Performing related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
- The ability to communicate in both official languages is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, presenting and communications skills
- The successful candidate must possess the ability to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate projects; the ability to interpret and analyze proposals and statistical reports and the ability to project a professional image;
- The ability to develop a budget and marketing plan for required sales activities and other tourism projects as assigned:
- The individual will be highly motivated, with an ability to lead a team and develop consensus among industry stakeholders;
- Problem solving ability-the skill to identify issues or problems and develop strategies and opportunities to resolve them.
- Passion for travel
- Knowledge of marketing and public relations as they relate to the hospitality industry
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry and its importance to the local economy; ability to understand the role of tourism in the community.
- Experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and working with external agencies
