We are the largest company in Atlantic Canada dedicated exclusively to material handling equipment; we have been providing our customers with high quality equipment, rentals, parts, training, and service since 1993. With branches located in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, we are looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Moncton Branch.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and implement procurement strategies and processes.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and services are delivered on time and within budget.
· Negotiate long-term and short-term transactions with vendors.
· Review, evaluate and monitor purchase/sales.
· Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of quality goods and services.
· Work with internal stakeholders to manage procurement activities.
· Conduct market research and latest industry trends and software.
· Preparing reports and analyzing data to identify areas for cost savings.
· Manage the day-to-day supplier relationships, including service, delivery, quality and billing issues.
· Manage inventory levels to ensure availability of products and materials while minimizing excess inventory.
· Research and source hard to find items and evaluate suppliers' price, product and service.
· Prepare procurement packages and RFPs where warranted.
· Administers and maintains the Purchase Order Process.
· Evaluate and select new suppliers.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, finance, supply chain management or a related field.
· A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in a procurement or purchasing role.
· Experience in sourcing, selecting and managing suppliers in a fast=pace environment.
· The ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and develop recommendations.
· Strong negotiation, project management and results oriented skills.
· Ability to cultivate a wide range of internal/external networks.
