About Us: The Health + Community Care Workforce Sector Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of care and support to the community health and support care workforce in Nova Scotia. We aim to empower professionals through education, training, and resources that promote best practices and improve service delivery.
Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Trainer/Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for community care professionals. This role requires a strong understanding of the health and community care sector, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery of Training: Facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops, and presentations, utilizing various instructional techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Training Development: Design and develop comprehensive training programs and educational materials tailored to the needs of community care professionals, including workshops, seminars, and online courses.
Assessment and Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics. Make recommendations for improvements based on findings.
Collaboration: Work closely with team, members and partners, including healthcare organizations, community groups, and regulatory bodies, to ensure training content is relevant and meets industry standards.
Resource Development: Create and maintain a library of training resources, including manuals, guides, and online materials, to support ongoing professional development.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to trainees, fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging professional growth.
Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in the health and community care sector to ensure training content is up-to-date and relevant.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in front line work in support or care role.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in training, education, or a related role within the health and community care sector.
Strong knowledge of community care practices, policies, and regulations.
Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to engage and motivate diverse audiences.
Experience with instructional design and e-learning platforms is an asset.
Must be able to travel within NS.
Certification in adult education or training (e.g., Train the Trainer) is an asset.
