Purpose

Scotiabank's Regulatory Relations and Global Compliance/Anti-Money Laundering Program team is seeking a Manager, Change Management and Training to join our team. Our best-in-class Change Management team supports various Compliance & AML Projects to implement effective and lasting change.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Change Management and Training, the Manager, Change Management and Training will support multiple initiatives, through design, management and execution of change and training strategies. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact for stakeholders to support change, communication and training activities.

The incumbent will work in a highly dynamic project environment and is expected to integrate multiple, multifunctional projects while quickly adapting to evolving business priorities. Also, the role will facilitate, design and deliver change and training initiatives including defining scope, analyzing needs, establishing communications programs, building and delivering skills-based training and managing resistance.

Accountabilities

  • Understands and applies the Change methodology and Instructional Design process and principles to develop approaches that suit complexity and other factors to support stakeholders impacted by change.

  • Designs self-paced and instructor-led training and creates learning content for Executive stakeholders and employees across all Lines of Defence (managers, directors etc.)

  • Assesses, evaluates and anticipates organizational factors and stakeholder readiness, and executes plans to prepare, manage, and reinforce change.

  • Drafts communications and develops materials for socializing change with senior management and sponsors, including briefing materials, plans, and presentations.

  • Acts as a go-to resource and trusted advisor to consult and guide, provide direction, leadership and solutions to project teams and individuals for large and complex initiatives to ensure successful implementation and benefit realization.

  • Completes needs analysis, creates learning objectives, and collaborates with stakeholders/ Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on the design and creation of training materials.

  • Designs, updates and builds training materials, and train-the-trainer resources.

  • Manages scheduling, facilitation and Q&A as necessary.

  • Acts as subject matter expert and advises on change management practices, adult learning and training strategies

  • Identifies resistance and performance gaps and works with project teams, business lines and leadership to develop and implement corrective actions.

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Works with business leads to define and implement metrics of success.

  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education/Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of change management, adult learning and business transformation.

  • At least 5 years gained experience in a project/program environment with 3-4 transformational change management or learning and development experience.

  • Ability to deconstruct complexity and effectively communicate complex or ambiguous concepts to continuously move projects/programs forward.

  • Experience working with senior leaders in an advisory and coaching capacity, particularly in addressing their role in effective change leadership.

  • Proven experience developing and executing change management tactics to ensure stakeholders are supported through the implementation process.

  • Experience working at a strategic level, liaising with stakeholders to identify potential change impacts and ensure change plans are in place.

  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be pragmatic decision maker.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including negotiation, influencing, presentation and facilitation skills.
