About the Role:

Reporting to the Administrator, the Dietitian has a key role in facilitating our model of care. You work collaboratively with residents, their families, and the Bay Side Home team to provide "Care at its Best".

In this role, you will:

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the Resident nutrition care plan.
• Communicate the plan to the multi-disciplinary team and document the plan in the Resident chart.
• Establish and maintain policies and procedures relating to the nutritional care of the resident.
• Consult/advise physicians and other members of the care team relation to the nutritional care of the resident.
• Develop a seasonal menu cycle in conjunction with the Manager of Support Services and ensure nutritional needs, texture modifications and therapeutic diet modification are met.
• Establish and maintain dietary standards for the department in conjunction with the manager of Support Services.
• Participate in various committees of Bay Side Home including interdisciplinary medication review.
• Practice in accordance with the professional standards for Dietitians of Canada.

Qualifications:

• Must hold or be eligible for active licensure as a Registered/Professional Dietitian with the Nova Scotia Dietetics Association.
