Atlantic Aqua Farms, North America's leading grower and processor of high-quality Prince Edward Island Mussels and Oysters, is undergoing an exciting transformation. With a state-of-the-art expansion of their processing facilities in Borden, PEI, they are modernizing equipment and systems to enhance production capabilities. As they continue to grow, they are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join the team.

Role Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be a key member of the plant maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and facilities. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery, supporting the success of Atlantic Aqua Farms' processing operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Follow all workplace and company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a "clean as you go" attitude throughout the day.
  • Keep accurate records of equipment maintenance and repair logs.
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts and fabricate required components.
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Operate and maintain grinders, pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, hydraulic systems, and industrial/stationary engines.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and materials.
  • Report and document safety concerns and equipment deficiencies.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.

Your Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with mechanical or electrical aptitude, capable of troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You have a proactive, problem-solving mindset and the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. A background in electrical or mechanical maintenance is preferred, along with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Your qualifications include:

  • Diploma or Certificate in Millwright, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience in industrial maintenance will be considered.
  • Apprentices working toward certification in a relevant trade are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working within a commercial, industrial, or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications.
  • Experience with designing and installing PVC, EMT, and galvanized conduit for plant systems.
  • Ability to repair, replace, and upgrade distribution equipment and electrical controls.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel between sites in PEI.
