Northwood is currently accepting applications for a Administrative Assistant - Labour Relations reporting to the Labour Relations Manager
Qualifications:
- Community College Diploma; a one year administrative or business course
- Two years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of office equipment (e.g. photocopier, fax machine) required
- Proficiency in typing (50 words per minute) required
- Experience working in a similar environment is considered an asset
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the Labour Relations Manager; Labour Relations Advisor and Senior Director People Services
- Provides administrative support to The Attendance Support Program
- Supports Labour Management Meetings for all bargaining units
- Supports the Collective Bargaining process
- Supports the development and preparation of quarterly reports
- Supports the development of letters, presentations and education material
- Schedules and attends Labour Management Meetings; supports agenda planning, takes & prepares minutes, provides support to follow up action plans
- Attends Labour Relations meetings as required; acts as note taker, prepares reports as required
- Supports the coordination of collective bargaining; scheduling meetings; preparing and circulating applicable documents as required
- Maintains the union representative and contact database
- Updates the Labour Relations Tracker database as required
- Collects and enters employment equity information
- Collates information for, and prepares quarterly People Services and Labour Relations reports
- Coordinates scheduling activities for department specific education and training activities
- Supports the development and review of Labour Relations and related policies and procedures
- Collates data for, and prepares quarterly reports
- Prepares and distributes various seniority lists in line with the collective agreements
- Other duties as required
Salary / Benefits: As per Northwood Scale
Hours of Work: 48 hours bi-weekly
