About the Role:
We are currently looking for a Technical Architect II to join our Enterprise Architecture team. Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Architecture, your responsibilities will include:
- Design scalable and flexible architectures to support expanding healthcare service requirements.
- Ensure interoperability between all components of solution architecture.
- Create solutions that ensure seamless integration, high availability, service resiliency, and intelligent data processing.
- Provide thought leadership and support for the creation and evolution of technology strategies, roadmaps and integration guidelines.
- Develop strategies and actionable plans for portfolio optimization and modernization efforts.
- Satisfy business requirements with technology options.
- Align solution delivery with technology strategies of the organization.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align solution decisions with business needs.
- Provide expertise on the evaluation of existing and emerging technologies.
- Lead business planning sessions to develop a strategic vision for holistic solutions that align with business objectives.
- Identify risk project, solution and enterprise risks, propose mitigation strategies, and review third-party component strategies for technical risk.
- Support Project and DevOps Managers with defining solution scope, implementation/test plans, and risk mitigation.
- Implement security controls, compliance measures, and ethical guidelines within the IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure privacy and security considerations are addressed within solution design.
- Monitor technology resource utilization, solution performance, identify optimization opportunities, and suggest innovative enhancements.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends to ensure NLHS remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
- Provide guidance and training on managing healthcare IT solutions.
- Consult, interact, and provide mentorship to users, key stakeholders, vendors, and development teams.
About You:
Your education and experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree: Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field is essential.
Master's degree in Cloud Computing, Digital Health, Data Science, or a related field (Desirable.)
Certifications. - Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Desirable)
- Digital health and interoperability certifications like HL7, FHIR, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Solution Architecture, including design, deployment, and management of IT solutions, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Digital Health Interoperability, including the implementation of standards like HL7 and FHIR.
- Experience in managing IT projects, particularly system integrations and cloud migrations.
- Experience working with healthcare information systems, understanding the unique challenges and regulatory requirements of the healthcare industry.
- Experience in implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
You have the following skills and abilities:
- Proficiency in interoperability standards and frameworks (FHIR, HL7, SNOMED, XML, etc.), data exchange protocols, and integration technologies such as SOAP, RESTful APIs, SAML, and OIDC.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, R, or similar, with a focus on cloud and interoperability development.
- Experience with integration engines such as Corepoint, Rhapsody, BizTalk or similar technologies.
Understanding of data management practices, including data integration, ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies. - Knowledge of security best practices (including cloud), identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with healthcare information systems (Meditech, Epic), Electronic Health Records (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), patient management systems, telehealth platforms, and healthcare data standards.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD), including version control systems (e.g., Git), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
- Knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their service.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID for identity and access management. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, stakeholders, and executive management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of designing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
