Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking an experienced, motivated, energetic stakeholder relations professional to join our team as a Senior Communications Advisor – Stakeholder Relations. The ideal candidate will have experience and demonstrated success in stakeholder relations, issues management and/or communications within a large, complex, multi-stakeholder organization.

The Senior Communications Advisor – Stakeholder Relations, will be a member of the Communications and Community Engagement (CCE) portfolio, consisting of an integrated team of communications, marketing, and engagement professionals.
We tell the stories of how Horizon staff, physicians, volunteers and patients, clients and family members are working to improve health care in our province and help ensure New Brunswickers have the information they need about their health care services.
Our portfolio is responsible for: corporate communications; internal communications; digital communications; media relations; marketing and advertising; creative services (graphic design, photography and videography); community engagement; and translation services.
Reporting to the Manager, Media and Stakeholder Relations, the Senior Communications Advisor – Stakeholder Relations will be responsible for leading the development and execution of stakeholder and engagement strategies that enhance relationships with key organizational stakeholders and support the identification and development of new relationships to protect and advance Horizon's corporate reputation.
The successful candidate will also support the development of communications, media relations and issues management plans and tactics.
The incumbent will play a key role in supporting CCE's Regional Directors and Senior Director, Communications and Marketing as well as leaders across the organization, including Horizon's President and CEO and Executive Leadership Team, by providing strategic stakeholder relations and communications advice and project management support.

Who you are
You have a degree in Communications, Public Relations or a related field and at least seven years of experience and demonstrated success in stakeholder relations, issues management and/or communications within a large, complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
This position will require you to:
- manage multiple task and projects, often to tight deadlines
- travel within New Brunswick, sometimes on short notice
- occasionally work on evenings or weekends
- have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media platforms
- have a working knowledge of Google Analytics and WordPress or other content management systems (considered an asset)
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level. Proficiency in French considered an asset.
What you will do
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in:
- Identifying stakeholders and developing, executing, and measuring engagement plans.
- Developing, executing, and measuring communication strategies and products
- Preparing communication pieces for publications (i.e., conducting interviews, writing articles, proofreading, editing, etc.)
- Issues management, communications, project/program management, crisis communications, including media relations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster collaborative relationships and build consensus.
- Superior project management skills and the ability to provide project management support to senior leaders.
- Ability to work independently, to meet multiple demands and deadlines, often under time constraints and pressure.
- Developing internal and external stakeholder relations strategies, plans, and tactics, including stakeholder identification, mapping, and engagement planning.
- Collaborating and maintaining strong linkages to internal and external stakeholders to keep abreast of issues, share best practices and collaborate on mutual efforts.
- Proactive identification of engagement opportunities to share Horizon's corporate priorities through various channels.
- Play an active role in the strengthening of the organization's proactive stakeholder communications.
- Manage the tracking of stakeholder engagement activities and results across the organization.
- Manage Horizon's online engagement/consultation platform (Let's Talk Horizon)
- Act as a strategic communications liaison with hospital foundation communication teams, helping to develop relationships, build trust and create a culture of philanthropy and purpose.
- Develop responses to media requests related to Horizon stakeholder and other identify and prepare organizational spokespeople
- Develop print, digital, and social media content related to Horizon stakeholder relations
This position can be based in Saint John, Fredericton, Upper River Valley, Moncton, or Miramichi.
